The EL-80W/RCBE has an in-built RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent). It is designed to protect human life, and protects your device in the event of an overload on a particular circuit.

The EL-80W is an emergency lighting backup system. It incorporates the latest microprocessor technology to achieve intelligent automated self-testing functionality and maximum light operation.
It is capable of driving lighting of 240V. The EL-80W complies with the Australian standard for emergency lighting by providing more than the required light intensity for more than the minimum time of 2 hours.
The RCBE component is a type of circuit breaker with two functions.
- To protect life
- To protect an overload on a circuit – overcurrent and short circuit
The RCBE component is to prevent an overload on a particular circuit at the same time as preventing anyone getting a shock that has the potential to kill them.
On initialization of a self-test, a power failure is simulated and the lamps are operated for up to 2 hours. LED indicators and a buzzer will alert maintenance personnel that either the lamps or the battery require attention or replacement in order to meet their rated specifications.
The unit can be easily installed into existing and new elevators with its flexible flat or vertical mounting options.
